We are delighted to welcome many new faces to Swawou this term, with enrolment increasing from 60 to 90 pupils. With the help of the local community, the Swawou team identified and recruited girls from disadvantaged homes who would otherwise be unable to attend and/or stay at school. All 90 girls have received free textbooks, stationery and uniforms.
We have also welcomed a new teacher to Swawou, Aminata Sheriff. Aminata had been volunteering with the school for several months and has now been offered a full-time, paid position. She is a fully qualified teacher and will be taking care of Class Three. This brings the total number of paid teachers to seven.
